TYPES OF SEWING CORD
Whether you need cord for piping, drawstrings, or curtain pull cords, WAWAK is sure to have what you need. Let's take a look at a few styles of sewing cord and their uses:
Often used to trim the edges of upholstery, drapery, cushions and other home décor, Piping Cord (also known as Welt Cord) is a style of cording designed for piping. This type of cord is unfinished, so it's only applicable for use inside a casing. It's available in two materials: cotton and polyester. Cotton Welt Cord is a bit softer and more pliable, excellent for piping with a slightly more plush look and feel. Polyester Welt Cord is a bit firmer, holds its shape well and tends to be less water-absorbent than cotton cord.
These sturdy, versatile cords are suited for a wide variety of sewing applications. They're ideal for drawstrings on items like bags, sweatshirts or pants and are an excellent option for piping. Choose from Polyester and Cotton/Polyester Cable/Pillow Cord. The Polyester Cable/Pillow Cord can also be used for corded buttonholes and macramé!
This nylon cording is a thin, strong style of cord primarily used for pull cords on window treatments like blinds, Roman shades, Austrian shades, balloon shades and more.
Traditionally used to hide the seams on upholstered items, this decorative cording is ideal for adding a decorative trim to costumes, home décor, crafts, upholstery and more. They feature an elegant, shiny finish and are available in a variety of colors.
